Removing Motor Home Carpet

The carpet in our motor home reminded me of a permanent "bad hair" day.  It was flat, colorless (gray), and stained from water spills over twenty years.

We are replacing the old carpet with a wood-grained linoleum that looks more like the modern motor homes and camp trailers.  This is taking quite a lot of time because of all the staples that remain in the plywood flooring.

I think I will also have to seal the plywood with a tacking agent to aid in adherence. (We are using a self-adhesive strip linoleum.) The sealant would also guard against future water incursion.

I will probably add a bead of clear silicone along the edges.
